I saw a comment saying this by the owner of an userpage full of "thanks" messages... And unfortunately I would like that possible too (Even if it will never be). :u
Edit of uses: Also being able to disable comment in the profile for the user could be useful for them when they won't log in for a long time and useful for the deviants who receives hundreds of comments per days.

C'mon, Even a polite sign saying "No thanks please" on a page is being ignored.

This is just IMPOLITE to "thanks" someone who don't wish those messages. Especially when it is Evident.

There is even an interesting article about this subject.

But there is no need to rage either if some people are blind or do it to be disrespectful...

I think you can, it would be nice if you could block just the people you don't watch from commenting to avoid spam

Eum no, that's stupid since it affects comments on deviations, it's just counter productive.

There was an option at one stage to turn off profile comments only. probably a premium thing or something

I"m quite sure even if I say don't say thank you in a jounrel tehy still woud do it. They already ingore my comment on the profile askign them not to do.

Interesting idea, I have come across several profiles with owners who wish not to receive those comments, I can imagine that it would be an extremely useful feature for those who receive hundreds and hundreds of messages a day as it is without those messages added as well.
