No Thanks-Stamp-Long button by Dinoclaws No Thanks-Stamp-Long button by Dinoclaws
Edit February 2: I changed the preview image for a stamp and revamped my long button.

I felt like doing this...I decided to do a version of *SparkLum's previous work.

So it contains the famous "Do not thank for the faves", with a "Do not thank for the llama" and a "Do not thank for the watch".

The Llama, Fave :+fav: and :+devwatch: belongs to their owners.

To use the stamp(which is the preview of this long button) simply copy and paste the thumbcode at the right to use it.
:thumb183574728:

To use copy and paste the code below into a Custom box widget or your ID .

To use the older version copy and paste the code below into a Custom box widget or your ID .

I don't see what's so wrong with being thanked. I like being thanked because it shows that the people I favorite from are appreciative.

Well I guess people get annoyed when they have say 100+ pages of comments saying the same thing..and/or they probably don't want to talk to others. Seems a bit childish and pointless if you have to post a ton of stamps or something like this one your page anyway if you're going to continue to watch, llama, or favorite deviants anyway.

That's so true like if you don't want people thanking you then don't favorite or watch or even send llamas. I personally love recieving thank you comments even if I am not able to reply to them all. It just shows that they are appreciative of the support I have given them.

having multiple account showed me that some people who write 'cute' comments
really just copy and paste those comments...
But not only that, the SPAM lot of 'Thanks for the fav :D (Big Grin)' also after saying that I don't want does comment anymore.
I just feel like a billboard ~ there to promote others

And I'm sick of it

^^
From me journal ^^

Still there are people who give me those messages...
I just don't feel that the people are really thank me...

I'd give llama's and stuff in return but once I see this on someone's page, I can't help but see it as rude and I can't bring myself to return the favor.

I don't get those messages much so I actually do find it pleasant and nice. I also can see that it's intended to show that you notice them. I can see how it can get annoying though.

I get thanked on here all the time. I've long ago decided that a "please don't thank me" on my page is ineffective. But when the message is there, and people still do it (from the looks of it, one or two people in the comments below do it because they consider it polite...it's not polite if you ignore them! I respect your opinion on calling it spam or not, but when people don't agree with you it's the nice thing to respect their opinion and not leave a thanks!), oftentimes because they don't pay attention (which is particularly interesting when you make it pretty obvious and stand out a lot), or just don't care. It's kinda frustrating.

Eh, don't feel bad, it's a good thing to say please and thank you.

It's just that on dA, some people don't want to be thanked for faving someones works and giving a llama as they would appreciate more meaningful comments. When they fave they simply wants to see more artwork of that person.:P

And this stamp-button doesn't cover much, since there is some thank you's that will always be appreciated, like when a user gives you out a subscription or points because of how much they appreciates you.:meow:

Personally, I like it when people thank me, but that's just my opinion. :3
And I don't get spammed by people thanking me for faves, because I don't go on and fave bazillions of things at a time, like I see many people on here doing. O.o

I really hate when people say "Thanks For The Fave" or something. It may sound nice, but it is annoying because it spams me.

I only ever thank people for the watch, and I absolutely always type it out (it's not a copy-paste). I do it because I'm happy they like my art enough to hit the watch button. I don't consider "thank you" comments to be spam, that's what your profile page is for. People can comment on your art all they want in your gallery.

Regardless, though. If someone is asking politely that you do not "spam" their page, it is your job to respect their plea. If you don't see something anywhere saying not to, then goodness feel free.

I highly doubt 1 comment from me EVER is "spamming" anyone's page. Because that's what people get from me, unless they're my friends. If you're waiting for comments on your art on your profile page, you're gonna have to keep waiting. You're going to get it on your individual deviations. The comment section is there so we can communicate with each other. Would you rather I sent you a note instead? Also, has it ever crossed your mind some people might be spamming your profile just to troll you? Get off your high horse.

Of all people to have a "high horse", I know it sure as Hell isn't me. Trust me on that one. But note how I said "its polite to respect other people's wishes, even if you don't necessarily agree with them"? Some people do acknowledge that you're trying to be polite but gently ask you to please not. Especially in more popular deviants. I've seen comment sections where they have literally nothing but "thanks!" for three pages. Don't you think they'd prefer a warm hello instead?

Also, me making a three-sentence statement gently pressing my opinion to try and help them see what my perspective on a situation is, does not define my personality, because never have I been rude to anyone without reason, and I sure as Hell am not smug. So you technically have no right to say I have a high horse in the first place.

I don't understand why you think people care what you want. They don't.
Also, I'd rather get "thank you" messages than nothing at all (or even worse - hate messages).
I can't understand how you can see people taking the time to show you their appreciation as spam.

And I can't see how you're so insufferable to say this. Even if you don't agree with someone, it's polite to respect their opinion. So even if we were both to be wrong in the end, it's just common courtesy to respect someone for their perspective and at least prevent conflict by leaving them alone. You can thank other people, but please respect me, and other people's pleas to not be thanked because that is what they want.

I believe we are talking circles now, so as of this response, I will no longer reply. Have a nice day.

A pageview. Because if they have an interesting icon or an interesting footer at every comment, like where your quote is, people will click their page. If you commented an interesting comment on a huge artists page, you'd probably get a lot of clicks, because you're essentially advertising on someones wall by commenting there. By commenting everywhere, everyone sees them and they get more clicks and views.

Most of us don't mind being thanked, but would mainly prefer feedback over thanks.

It's basically like saying 'thanks for blah blah blah, okay, I won't bother visiting your profile now unless you do it again'.

yes, but what was the point in even going to the person's page?
"to thank you for what ever you did"
you're probably about to tell me, here's the thing, when someone see's that they got a new message, only to see it's the same copy paste message they've gotten for the past several years, it's very disappointing. it's very annoying getting the same messages over and over and over again.

:iconarterialblack716:

those messages may be repetitive to you, but they're a unique thank you from each individual person. each of those individual people took the time to thank you for what you did for them. how can you take an entire crowd's individual acts of gratitude and make them into some kind of collective personal annoyance for you?
Reply
:iconpuppyhowler:
puppyhowler Featured By Owner Jan 31, 2015  Hobbyist
other then a few minor differences, the messages are the exact same "thanks for the ___". the person isn't going onto your page to look at your art, or anything, they don't even bother seeing if the person likes getting those kind of messages. they just blindly scroll down to the comments. it's annoying to me is because it's very disappointing to see you have 6 messages, and then realize that its only someone talking about their own art and not yours.

why would they talk about your art? why would they look at your art? why would they do anything besides thank you? that's not why they're on your page, they're on your page to show appreciation. they could do more, but they're absolutely not obligated to at all. i don't know you, or what kind of person you actually are, but your comment comes across as extremely self-centered. you do nice things for people because you want to or because it's a kind thing to do, not because people can give you something in return.

ok then, let me tell you a little about myself. i've been on DA for 4 years now, and 95% of all comments i get are the exact same, yes, i get some comments on my art and sometimes i get a comment on my profile from someone who wants to talk, but most of the comments i ever get is the same comment over and over again (sometimes from the same person). you shouldn't be able to PREDICT what a comment is going to say!
and no, i'm not being self centered, yes i do do things for people because i want to and not to get anything out of it, assuming i do that is very rude. it's not self centered to not want the same message sprinkled all over your profile. and besides, sometimes i even try to spark a conversation with the person who thanked me, and most of the time i just get ignored. what's the point in commenting on someone's page, if you don't want to talk with that person, isn't that what the comments are for?
